Shells

Mrs Russell brought some shells to school.
The students chose one and wrote about it.
This is what Jahnyva wrote: These shells were found at Matauri Bay. My one is shiny and precious and sweet. I a way, it smells like fish and sand. I imagine its journey in my head, gliding around in the sea.
Its colour is white and brown. Its like it's from somewhere, deep in the sea, where there is no sound at all. When I shine the shell in the light, it sparkles.
This is what Quinn wrote: My shell is really cool. It is white with a little bit of brown on the top.
It feels very soft, but it has little holes in it.
It probably was in the sea and got washed up on the shore by a huge wave. it has little bits of sand stuck in the little holes that I cannot get out.
You can read more descriptions on the students' individual blogs. You can reach these through our school website at stpauls.spikeatschool.co.nz
