- The sea around Antarctica is home to many animals - seals, whales and penguins.
- The ice can get up to 4 kilometres thick.
- It is too cold for people to live there for very long.
- Scientists take turns to stay there to study the ice.
- The temperature in Antarctica can go down to -90 degrees Celsius.
- Antarctica is the coldest place on earth
- Antarctica is one of the wildest places on earth.
- Tourists sometimes go there in the summers.
