The Advent Wreath reminds us that we are getting ready for Christmas. The wreath is made of evergreen leaves, which are formed into a circle. The evergreen colour reminds us that God's love is forever. The circle has no beginning and no end, and reminds us that God has no beginning and no end. Three purple candles and one rose candle are used in the wreath. When they are lit, they remind us that Jesus is the light of the world.
The four candles remind us of the four Sundays of Advent. One candle is lit in Week 1, 2 candles are lit in Week 2, 3 candles are lit in Week 3 and the 4 candles are all lit during the 4th week.
The pink candle is lit in Week 3, and reminds us that Christmas is very near.
