The Jesse Tree
We have been learning about the Jesse Tree. Symbols of people of the family of Jesus are hung on the Jesse Tree every Advent. As they are hung, we read from the Bible about the person whose picture we are hanging. A picture of creation can be hung first, followed by an apple which symbolises Adam and Eve, then the Ark for Noah, the tent for Abraham, the cradle for Isaac, the ladder for Jacob, the coloured coat for Joseph, the burning bush for Moses, the tree stump for Jesse, the King's crown for David, the whale for Jonah, the lion for Daniel, Elizabeth and Zachariah, John the Baptist, Mary, Joseph and Jesus.
