Happy Holidays

Science in a Van is live on you tube here

Go onto Seesaw and see what each other has posted. Write a comment on each person's post to let them know you have seen their video or photo or whatever else they have posted.
Comment on Lewis' exercise, Chloe's puppet show video, Taina's hello video, Ruby's nature display, Benson and Ella's puppet show, and make a video yourself. You could tell a joke, ask a riddle, showing us something you have made.

Good morning. Today is the first day of the holidays.

Today we thank God that we are all still safe. We pray for all the children who are at home, beginning school holidays. Thank you, God, for holidays and for the way You are looking after us all and keeping us all safe. Please continue to look after us all during these holidays, and please look after all the people in our country who are still working so that we can be fed and safe.

Chloe's fabulous video is a reminder that you can go into Seesaw and make a video. Tell us how you are getting on and what you have been doing.

Two things that I've found important:
- have a routine. I get up each morning at the same time. I eat breakfast at the same time. I watch Science in a Van at 12.45 every day and go for a walk every afternoon. I go to bed at the same time each night.
- The second thing is to have a goal or two. Yesterday, my goals were to go shopping, get some washing done, pray the Mass on-line with the Bishop and go for a walk.
I am enjoying my walks because I go out to find things that are interesting. Yesterday, I watched a family of pukeko. One had crossed the road, heading for a house where another one was on the other side, in somebody's home. The two pukeko began screaming at each other (in bird noise). I don't know why, but it was very funny.
On Saturday, I saw a finch. I haven't seen a finch for years. It's such a tiny bird, even smaller than a sparrow. Maybe you want to research NZ birds and find one that you haven't heard of before.
Today, my goal is to plant carrot seeds into egg carton compartments to get them to the seedling stage before I plant them in the garden when my tomatoes stop fruiting. My other goal is to bake a feijoa loaf with some feijoas that I found on Saturday. They had fallen off a tree which had a branch overhanging the path that I was walking.

Since it is the holidays, I'm just going to post links here for you to use during your holidays if you and your parents want you to.

If you want some school work, email me to tell me - tell me the sort of work you want and I can post some on your Home School page in your Writing Folder. Any work you do there, I will mark and give you feedback and feed forward. Fletcher and I worked together last Friday, doing just that. We both had the document open and Fletcher would have a go at some maths examples, then I would type how he was going, then he would do some more and I would give more feedback and feed forward. I found it to be very useful.

Today, TVI, at 9 o'clock this morning, is putting on an exercise class - this may be for adults, but, at 3pm, on TV2, there is a kids' exercise class. They are both worth investigating, especially the Born to Move at 3pm on TV2.
Don't forget Science in a Van at 12.45pm. Yesterday, Alan and Emily showed how to draw a curve from straight lines.
Remember David Walliams is reading from the World's Worst Kids Number 3 at this link, every day. Today he is reading Peter Picker.

Remember the Fun Activities page in your Writing Folder.

Tawa School Principal reading Parts 1 and 2 of Bad Jelly the Witch.

Today he has started reading The Twits. If you have it at home, you could read along with him.
He reads it live each day at 10am on youtube.
