Term 2 Week 4 Wednesday

The Easter Egg Hunt  by Ruby
“Quick, Mum look over here!” I said as I was chomping away on an Easter Egg.
“I found one!”
“What! Already! You can’t start looking now, you haven’t had breakfast yet!”
“Can we have breakfast? I’m starving!” I asked
“Sure!”said Mum
When we had finished, I really wanted to eat some more Easter Eggs.
“Okay, then, can we start looking now?” I asked,
“Wait for everyone else to come.”
“Okay!” I replied sadly.
Later in the day, everyone started arriving, they all looked excited.
“Now can we start?”
I was starting to get impatient.
“Oh alright!”
“YAY!!!”
As we ran off excitedly to find the Easter eggs, we could already hear the voices of some kids shouting, “I found one!”
I ran to the lavender bush in front of the house. I found, nestled in the purple branches, an emerald green wrapped up Easter egg.
I popped it into my cardboard basket. “I want to try and find another one.” I thought. “Where shall I look now?”
I ran off to look in another place, but I didn’t find any there.
“Well, that’s a shame. I’ll go and look in that pile of leaves over there.”
As I was messing up the leaves, I could see a tiny bit of shiny purple wrapper. I hurriedly crawled towards it. I reached out to pick it up. The shiny purple egg jumped into my Easter basket. I had a feeling of satisfaction because I had already found two of them.
It was at that moment, I saw something sparkly blinking at me inside a gap in the mailbox and this time it was a mavellous gold colour. Well done.
When all of the eggs were found everyone started to pack up. The sun began to set and everyone was going home, taking their joyful memories of Easter Sunday with them.

And the winner is ........
